Celery root creme brulee

On me and Santi's 1-year anniversary dinner in 2014, we ate at what was then a very fancy and trendy restaurant in Somerville called Journeyman (which has since closed down). This was the nicest and cheffiest restaurant either of us had been to at that time, and we did a fancy tasting menu. We were served what is arguably one of the most memorable dishes either of us had ever tried. It was a celery root creme brulee topped with chilled poached lobster. We still talk about this dish and have been searching for recipes to recreate it. This is the product of those searchings!! Still working on making the recipe perfect, but this is the fruits or our labor as we've been testing it so far. Pastina (Italian penicillin stars soup)

Recipe has been going viral on the internet, but this is the one I based mine off of: https://www.buzzfeed.com/rossyoder/best-pastina-soup-recipe Ingredients (this makes 1-2 servings, depending on how hungry you are!): - 1/2 cup pastina pasta (stars or acini de pipi) - 1 tablespoon butter  - grated Parmesan cheese (about half a cup grated!) - 1 egg - 2 cups chicken broth  Instructions: 1) Bring broth to a boil and add pasta. Boil pasta for 5-6 minutes, stirring frequently. Most of the broth should get absorbed. 2) While the pasta is boiling, beat an egg in a small bowl. 3) After the 5-6 minutes of boiling, when there is only a little bit of broth left, turn off heat. Add butter first (cold ingredients one by one in order to cool off the soup). Stir until butter is fully melted in. 4) Add in grated cheese. Stir until incorporated. 5) I try to temper the egg to avoid scrambling, so take a little bit of the pasta/broth mixture (a tablespoon or two) and mix it into the bowl with t...

Challah

Recipe courtesy of:  https://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-make-challah-bread-181004 Ingredients: 1  cup  lukewarm water 2  teaspoons  active dry or instant yeast 4 to 4 1/2  cups  all-purpose flour 1/4  cup  granulated sugar 2  teaspoons  salt 2  large eggs 1  large egg yolk (reserve the white for the egg wash) 1/4  cup  neutral-flavored vegetable oil, such as canola Dissolve the yeast.  Place the water in a small bowl, sprinkle with the yeast and a healthy pinch of sugar, and stir to combine. Let stand until you see a thin frothy layer across the top, 5 to 10 minutes. This means that the yeast is active and ready to use. (If you do not see this or if your yeast won't dissolve, it has likely expired and you'll need to purchase new yeast.) Mix the dry ingredients.  Place 4 cups of the flour, sugar, and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer and whisk to combine. (Alternatively, use a large bowl and knead by hand....
